Commissioners Minutes for September 3, 2019

Commissioners C.R. Bud Motsinger and Rex Hibler met in the commissioner’s room of the Caldwell County Courthouse with County Clerk Christine Owen. The meeting was opened with The Pledge of Allegiance. The courthouse was closed on Labor Day, September 2nd.

Commissioner Jonathan Abbott was absent

Commissioners met with road and bridge supervisor Jeff Campbell. Jeff reported work on Oliver Rd will be finished soon. Discussed information about FEMA flood money for loss dates of April 29, 2019 to July 5, 2019. Discussed bidding the aluminum culvert required for Mill Creek Dr.

The Caldwell County Commission does this day order the Treasurer, June Grooms to abate $1,277.49 (county portion is $50.52) from the tax books for the 2019 Tax Sale. On August 26, 2019 the following 32 properties were sold, 12 – 1st offerings, 1 – 2nd offering and 19 – 4th offering properties. The total sale was $8,873.69. A post third offering bid was opened and accepted by the commissioners.

Phone Conference with Kevin Hyde of Archive Social regarding record keeping.

David Flick and Greg Pitchford had a phone conference call regarding LOC mitigation.

Randy Howell and Drew Thomas met with the Commissioners to discuss a business opportunity.

Assessor Beverly Alden discussed a property assessment.

Aaron Jones called to discuss finalizing the RCPP.

Commissioners met with Terry Rumery about economic development.

Commissioners met with road and bridge supervisor Jeff Campbell. Jeff discussed FEMA documentation. Bids for aluminum culvert are due in September.

Commissioners C.R. Bud Motsinger, Jonathan Abbott and Rex Hibler met in the commissioner’s room of the Caldwell County Courthouse with County Clerk Christine Owen. The meeting was opened with The Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioners met with road and bridge supervisor Jeff Campbell. Jeff reported on the FEMA documentation that will need to be submitted and talked about procurement procedures. A tube for a 2nd entrance at Tait Park was discussed. The tractor pullers association offered to pay for the tube.

Commissioners C.R. Bud Motsinger, Jonathan Abbott and Rex Hibler met in the commissioner’s room of the Caldwell County Courthouse with County Clerk Christine Owen. The meeting was opened with The Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioners met with road and bridge supervisor Jeff Campbell. Jeff reported that Davis Township and City of Braymer would like to meet about Tait Park Rd.

1 bid was received and opened
Viebrock Sales and Service: aluminum Box Culvert, Contech Aluminum Box – #60, B-6—22’ 1×9’ 3”x31’ 6” long. Shell receiving channel, 2 – head walls, 4 wing walls $43,325.00.
This culvert will be placed at Mill Creek Drive. Rex moved to accept Viebrock bid of $43,325.00. Bud 2nd the motion, a roll call vote was taken, Bud voted yes, Rex voted yes, Jonathan voted yes.

Assessor Beverly Alden discussed Coronet Windows

Marty Gray and Mark Merrill discussed starting an EAP. New batteries are needed for the repeater at Braymer. We need to look at a maintenance plan for these repeaters.

Sharon Wright met with the Commissioners regarding the electrical in her office.

Jonathan made a motion to accept bid from Shactz Comm. Communications for purchase and installation for surveillance systems at County Courthouse. Bud 2nd the motion, a roll call vote was taken, Bud voted yes, Rex voted yes, Jonathan voted yes.
